Sealing Compound ELEP COAT

For first-time users

What is "Elep-coat"?

Elep-coat is insulating / moistureproof coating material and applying it will form a film which works as dustproof and moitureproof and it will protect circuit boards from harsh environments.

What kind of case of using of Elep-coat?

It is adopted circuit boards of automotive and household electrical appliances.

What kind of type for Elep-coat is there?

There are water-type and solvent-type.  The features of each products are as follows.

Water-type

Item Features
LSS-540E Water-type moistureproof coating material which doesn't contain organic solvent (Non-dangerous item).

Solvent-type

Item Features
LSS-520MH
(Transparent&Blue)
Products that improve the heat resistance of LSS-520.
LSS-520MHF The Fluorescent type of LSS-520MH. You can confirm coating condition visually by applying blacklight after coating.

What kind of size for Elep-coat?

The size of each products are as follows.
Item Packing size
LSS-540E 17KG
LSS-520MH
(Transparent&Blue)
15KG(UN)
LSS-520MHF 15KG(UN)

Is a thinner necessary when using ELEPCOAT?

ELEPCOAT can be used as only base compound.
A thinner is for cleaning brush and viscosity adjustment.

Is there a special thinner?

Please use a special Thinner.
Item Thinner
LSS-520MH
(Transparent&Blue)
Please use commercially available ion exchange water.
LSS-520MHF Thinner for LSS-520MH
LSS-540E Thinner for LSS-520MH

Is there any product which diluted to the recommended concentration beforehand?

There is product which diluted for dispensers. Detail will be informed by PIC of Sales.

How to get SDS (Safety Data Sheet)?

Sorry to trouble you but please ask us from inquiry foam.

How to get sample?

Sorry to trouble you but please ask us from inquiry foam.

What kind of place should we keep products?

When you don't use products, please close the container and keep it tightly closed.
And please keep products in a cool and dark place with good ventilation, and keep away from the following place.
●Close to the fire  ●Places where are hot such as dryers ●Places where are exposed to direct sunlight
●Concentrated hydrochloric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid etc. Places with strong acid

About environmental reaction

How to ask survey on chemical substances contained in products for Elep-coat?

Sorry to trouble you but please ask us from inquiry foam.
Coating methods

How to apply Elepcoats?

We recommend applying by brush, splay and dispenser.

What is recommended film thickness?

Recommended film thickness of Elepcoat is 20~30μm.

How to manage viscosity?

Since volatilization of the solvent causes a change in viscosity, please work while diluting appropriately.
As  a method of viscosity measurement, there is Iwata cup and rotational viscometer are available.
Please measure viscosity and work.

How to dry?

You can dry at the temperature range from room temperature to about 60℃ with heating.
It takes time to dry at room temperature, but it's vastly abridged by heating.

What is an example of coating?

About Flame retardancy standard

Is there any product which conformed to the flame retardancy of UL-94-V0?

By combination of each products and substrate get certification. Please check detail with website of UL.
About technical questions

Does Elepcoat have gas resistance?

It depends on the type and concentration of gas. Low gas permeability materials are used for this product and gas resistance is improved by using it.

How to peel Elepcoat?

Please soak in exclusive Thinner or solvent to peel Elepcoat.
It's difficult to peel partly. And we cannot guarantee affect of solvent to parts.

Is it possible to double apply?

It's possible.

Is there worse effect on rubber, plastics, metals etc?

Please check SDS and confirm with each manufaturer of its part.

What is drying time by finger touch?

It means time until  the surface of the paimt film does not become sticky by touch with fingers.

After coating elepcoat, there are bubbles in film, is there any problem?

Because bubbles can cause decreasing of insulation resistance value and film strength,
it reccomended to suppress bubble generation as much as possible.

How to suppress bubble generation?

By adjusting / heating the viscosity of the coating material, it's possible to suppress bubbles.
There is a merit that it becomes difficult to sag on parts when the viscosity is high, but there is   demerit that bubbles tend to remain. When the viscosity is low, bubbles tend to come off easily, but the coating thickness becomes thinner and the coating material scatters more easily.
Please adjust to prescribed viscosity with considering the above.
And in the case of using dispenser, bubbles can be  suppressed by adjusting the discharge pressure, the nozzle height, and warming the coating material if possible.
